Plagazon Build

Plagazon is a hybrid of a Poison Javazon and a Thunderfury build. She walks a fine line between constant DoTs (damage over time) and flurried melee attacks. This Diablo 2 Amazon build has plenty of points left over for customization.

The prime reason for this is because Poison Immunity (PI) is one of the most rare immunities for monsters to have in the game. The monsters that do have the identifier are normally found at higher difficulties, making them a very rare sight until then.

Plagazon skills have less synergy, as mentioned in Javazon, leaving those aforementioned points to spend. Spending the points in the “Passive and Magic” skill tree increases her damage and survivability.

The elemental Poison type attack damage is slow to start, but can get to excessively high levels!

Plagazon Build Skills

Like a Poison Javazon, the Plagazon maximizes her Poison damage skills: Plague and Poison Javelin. Poison Javelin will cut down single targets while Plague is better left to mobs with their AoE poison blasts.

This build relies on CC via the clouds of poison gas her missiles leave behind: She’ll be maxing these skills first.

Next she spends points on her tank, her Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is common to most Amazon builds due to her durability and the safety she provides.

As with other builds, there are two different views when investing points in avoidance skills. Avoid, Dodge, and Evade might be prerequisites for your tank, the Valkyrie, but do they need to be maxed?

Some max out the avoidance skills while others would rather invest the points in Elemental damage and other passives.

Passives like Penetrate and Critical Strike exponentially increase your damage output. Skills like Pierce, another damage related passive, can be super useful fighting mobs.

The skill a Plagazon focuses a good amount of points into is Lightning Fury. The Lightning elemental damage is useful for any monsters with PI and against enemy players. In PvP Lightning Fury provides great CC and damage.

At the minimum we suggest at least one point in every “Passive and Magic” skill, spending excess points however it will benefit your play style.

Plagazon Build Stats

Invest points in Strength until your Plagazon meets her item’s requirements.

Dexterity, as mentioned in other Amazon builds, can have as many points as a player feels comfortable. Most players dump points into Dexterity until they’ve achieved the best possible block rate.

Vitality can use points to make your Plagazon tankier. Players often add points to their Vitality, in any build when left without other viable options.

Energy is the least used trait in most Amazon builds, and this one is no different. Plagazons are expected to fill the gap with Mana potions and items with bonus effects.

Mercenary

The only Amazon build not to require an Act 2 mercenary. The Plagazon benefits from a Rogue Archer, armed with Fire or Cold arrows, to down enemies immune to Poison/Lightning damage.
