Popular Barbarian builds
Whirlwind Barb: This Iconic Barbarian build spun through grouped mobs of monsters straight into history. Using the Whirlwind skill and the mantra “Spin it to win it” this build is almost perfect for every situation. Arguably the most famous Diablo 2 build is focused on continually spinning to break opponents spirits.
Frenzy Barb: Armed with an axe in each hand to quickly cut down bosses or monsters, this Barb uses the Frenzy skill to maximize his attack speed. This is synergized with rapid movement speed to spread the love around to groups of monsters or speed runs.
Berserker: This is perhaps the peak of a Barb’s damage output. The DPS is extraordinary because it ignores most immunities. A Berserker converts all this damage from physical to magical making it hard to find enemies that can stand up to you. This is because this build’s only weakness is it’s minimum defense. This Barb can dish out damage with a one-hander and a shield or with a two handed weapon.
Concentrator: The tank spoken of earlier, The ‘Conc’ Barb is a party buffing machine. He’s able to tank tons of damage and keep “mob aggro” easily even with the little damage he does. The build relies on skills like Bash for attacking and skills like Concentrate and Battle Orders to keep the party happy. This Barb, or the Singer below, is the Barb your friends want you to play.
Dragoon or Leaper: This Barbarian tactically waits, then like a lightning bolt leaps straight at his enemy. Slow at PvP, but still annoyingly usable, this build is unforgettable because of one thing: it avoids any slows and incoming projectiles when in the air.
Pouring points into skills like Leap and Leap Attack the Barbarian gets serious airtime. The build soars over PvE instances, speeding through Acts to Lord of Destruction.
Axethrower: Because “Throwing stuff Barbarian” was too long, this Barbarian accidentally bought Amazon underarm deodorant is feeling “Fierce”. He’s gonna throw Javelins, Axes, and Knives at his enemies all day and all night.
Immortal King Barbarian: This fresh take on the WW Barb is named for the set of items the Barb will focus on acquiring and using. The OG Barbarian/God Bul-Khathos originally used this extra fancy set of armor and weapon. The set awards a hefty +50% to all resistances, extra CC reduction, and other powerful bonuses. The investment in Strength is all it takes to turn your WW Barb into the Immortal King.
Executioner: Heads will roll in gruesome trails behind this Barb. Because the Executioner, as expected, is in the business of one-hit kills and business is good. Cutting deep bloody swathes in grouped monsters by using skills like Deadly Attack. This further synergizes with items with identifiers like Crushing Blow or Open Wounds.
Horker or Gold Find Barb: Cash rules everything around this Barb. Keep in mind this build is only worth it if your Barb is over level 93. The Horker specializes in getting gold and using it to gamble on items. GIMME THE LOOT!
Singer: The other Barb your friends want you to play. The Singer is helpless on his own and in PvP, so look to other builds if that’s what you’re looking for. The Singer is a combat multiplier when running dungeons with friends. Most Singers are kitted like casters: keeping mana cost in the forefront of their builds. By using the War Cry Skill this Barb is one of the best supports in D2.
